hello everyone,
I remember that there used to be a rough sysadmin guide for QNX/Neutrino
on the QNX website, but it seems to have vanished with the new look.
Is there someone that has a copy or know of a location to find it again?
Thanks,
Adam

I’ve asked the website people to reinstate it.

Ok. Thanks.
Any other suggestions on where to get information on how to get my network
of QNX4 hosted computers converted to a network of QNX6 hosted computers?
Thanks,

What do you mean convert? A network is a bunch of wire and cable, the OS is
to some degree irrelavant, unless I misunderstood your question.

Sorry. Let me try again.
By convert I meant the QNX OS of the host computers will be
converted/changed from QNX4 to QNX6. The task is simply a OS change. No
hardware.
We have 50 or so computers running QNX 4.24 and they are connected to our
company’s network. Under QNX4 I need to be concerned with
/etc/config/netmap, /etc/hosts, /etc/netstart and files like this in order
to get the associated computer working with the network and get all the QNX
hosts in a condition to use the network to communicate with each other.
When I change these computers to QNX6, what files do I need to be concerned
about? Does QNX6 also use /etc/config/netmap, /etc/hosts, etc?
I haven’t yet found any QNX documentation that gives me this information.
Thanks in advance,
Charlie

No it’s gone
/etc/hosts, etc?
/etc/host is TCP/IP related, QNX4 and QNX6 share very common TCP/IP stack.
I haven’t yet found any QNX documentation that gives me this information.
Look for QNET (equivalent of FLEET under QNX4). It’s all documented.
Thanks in advance,
Charlie

HTHAHHH! I’ve been looking for a guide like this since I started using QNX
about a year ago!
Thanks for the link…
Hi,
As of yesterday I can no longer access
http://qnxcs.unomaha.edu/sysadmin/Book4TOC2.html
Anyone else experiencing the problem?
Suppose the owner has purposefully locked us out?
Anyone else have a copy or similar doc?
Thanks,
Charlie
BTW. QNX should really should have that or better available. It was really
helpful.

Any news on the web link?
There is also supposed to be a “Users Guide” in 6.3.0. Did this happen? If
so, how do I access it?
