Hi everybody,
I hv a problem configuring my printer in QNX6.2.1 machine.
The printer HP LaserJet 4V appears in the print selection window as soon
as it is connected to the QNX6.2.1 machine.
But, nothing gets printed on it.
When the same is done with an Epson printer, in the print selection, the
Epson name does not appear.
How can I configure the printer?
If any suggestions, u r most welcome.

Do you have access to the 6.3 docs? The Neutrino User’s Guide has a chapter
on printing that might help you.

We are in the process of procuring the printed manuals for QNX 6.3
But, as of now, there is no manual.
Can u give me some details on printer configuration.
My system is QNX 6.2.1 and the printer I’m using is HP LaserJet 4v
The printer gets detected by the system. But, when a print is given , only
blank pages appear. But in print preview the contents appear.
Can u help me since it is most urgent in my project.

I would like to know how to interface a EPSON STYLUS C86 printer under
Qnx6.3 environment. I see that supported EPSON printers stops with
Stylus C80 but the printer language is the same (Epson ESC/P)
Start spooler command :
spooler –d /dev/par1 –vvvvv
give :
PNPID=EPSONStylus_C869ACC
Queue /dev/par1
raw cat
phs phs-to-ijs -X$d
If I start « prjobs" it prints Stylus_C86 in his list of
printers.
If I send a file to print in character mode, it works well.
When I try to print some graphic, spooler diplay this type of error
message :
Making /var/spool/printers/Stylus_C86.localhost/00000.phs the best
cantidate so far.
Spawning: phs-to-ijs -X/dev/par1
/var/spool/printers/Stylus_C86.localhost/00000 phs >/dev/par1
Set device model failed
If I try to print manually by printer driver, command :
phs-to-ijs -X/dev/par1 -VVVVV tstPhsToPrint.phs
give :
[my_init]
[Install Driver]
[Open Driver]
[Open Job]
I haven’t find options that allows to work correctly with this
printer.

My friend Under some circumstances with Qnx6.3 environment, especially
when one ink catridge is completely empty, it may take about 20 to 30
seconds to detect the ink level. Please take this into account before
submitting a bug report. When you query the ink levels before the
printer is fully initialized a sheet of paper will be drawn in. But
nothing will be printed. To avoid this do not query the ink levels
before the printer is fully initialized.
