QNX6.2.1 and QNX6.3 on one hard disk?

Hi,

I’ve got a small problem. I’m trying to setup my machine with 3
different OS’.
First one WinXP…already done.
second one QNX6.2.1 and third one schould be QNX6.3.

The Problem is, that when I’ve installed qnx6.2.1 in let’s say partition
2 (primary) and try THEN to install qnx6.3 on the primary partition 3
the installation routine recognises the qnx6.2.1 partition and wants to
overwrite it. I’ve tried several things like the vice versa installation
(first qnx6.3 then qnx 6.2.1), seperating both qnx partitions with an
ntfs partition but nothing helped. Is there anybody who can help me out
here?

Thanks a lot,
Dietmar.

Here are the instructions from the 6.3.0 self-hosted installation notes:

Keeping QNX Momentics 6.2

For QNX Neutrino self-hosted development, it’s possible to have both QNX
Momentics 6.2.x and 6.3.0 installed on your computer at the same time.
Here’s how:

  1. Boot your 6.2.x partition.

  2. Use fdisk to change the partition number from 79 to 78 or 77. Be sure

to make the partition bootable if it was before.
3. Save your changes and shut down 6.2.x.
4. Install QNX Momentics 6.3.0 into an empty partition.

To boot into 6.3.0, reboot and select the partition with hd0t79 in it.
When prompted, select /boot/fs/qnxbase.qfs.
To boot into 6.2.x, select the partition with hd0t78 or hd0t77 in it
(depending on which number you assigned to the partition).

I hope this helps.
