passwd file access

Hi,
I upgraded QNX 4.25b to 4.25g.
The problem is that I can’t login after the upgrade.
That’s because I overwrote /etc/passwd file with the backup /etc/passwd
file.

How can I access the /etc/passwd file to clear the passwords for the root
and users.

JiHyeon
Thanks

If you are able to make the box to load from a floppy - all you have to do

is to mount the QNX4 partition on HDD, browse it to find the /etc/passwd
and remove “x” in the root’s entry.
This will clear the root’s password.
Then you may load as usual and re-enable all the passwords there.
