I have downloaded the 6.3 ISO image from the MyQNX page.

When I try to boot the CD I get the follow error:

Syspage memory request of 32 exceeds maximum of 0 bytes.

This is on a Dell PowerEdge 350 system. I seem to recall that someone
had to make a custom build image for me to get 6.2 to boot on this system.
What will I need to try 6.3?

Next question:

I am trying to upgrade an X86 6.21B PE system.

You have to be kidding that I need to install into an empy partition, right?
So what do I do if I don’t have an empty partition?

If you are installing self-hosted QNX Neutrino, QNX 6.3 installs as a fresh
installation, not an upgrade to an existing installation.

So basically I need to purchase a new hard drive to save away my old system.
Nice.

What do I do about the error I received?
“Syspage memory request of 32 exceeds maximum of 0 bytes.”

I assume that this is related to the A20 gate option that we had to deal
with the first time I tried to install QNX 6 to this system.

Hi Dave,

I have downloaded Momentics v6.3.0 from my QNX account.

Do I need a special evaluation key for the installation ??

The evaluation program will be available shortly. The intention is to have
the evaluation keys delivered electronically.
The downloadable ISO is available in your myQNX account as part of your
product entitlements based on your support programs and products that you
currently own.
Please contact your QNX Sales rep to obtain your license key.

Thanks,

Dave Nickerson

I have a question,

Why isn’t the 3D TDK available in the Eval?

The 3D Graphics TDK is a seperately available product. The PE eval contains
an
evaluation license only for the Momentics PE 6.3 development product.

Thanks,

And the DDKs? They don’t appear to exist yet. What will their
commercial status be? And when?

This is of interest to me because I’m getting people asking me to build
a tweaked version of the vesabios graphics driver for 6.3.0

Cheers,
Evan

I was looking for DDKs too. This is very important for me as well. Please
let the group know.

Thanks
Vilas

They are already commercially released for all editions of QNX Momentics
Development
Suite.

They are available today for download from the Download Center
at www.qnx.com.

The folder location is:

Download Center → Products and Updates → QNX Momentics
→ QNX Momentics 6.3.x → QNX Momentics 6.3.x Driver Development Kits

to obtain access to the folder, you must previously have registered
a (new) Momentics 6.3 product registration code in your myQNX account
profile. This applies to Evaluation, SE, PE, Alliance or Education
licenses.

This is of interest to me because I’m getting people asking me to build
a tweaked version of the vesabios graphics driver for 6.3.0

Not all drivers are in the DDK(s), only samples and representative drivers,
but the vesabios driver is there if memory serves me correctly.

Accelerated 3D drivers are not part of the Graphics DDK.

Cheers,
Evan

Thanks for that Steve. I now know I wasn’t able to see them because my
product registration number was one of the invalid ones.

It looks like I might have to perform another download to get a newer
number.
