Hi,
We think we did. The problem is that the laptop screen goes crazy during the
initial install, so it’s hard to do it all in one go (You pretty much have
to reboot, and then finish the install by manually running the installer).
Anyway, after we installed patch B the driver was there. Thanks for the
help.
BTW, is this driver really only available for PE? Or is it just that it
didn’t make it on to any SE CD in time?
Thanks
Marc

Did you apply the Momentics package via the QNX Software installer? I have
seen cases before where only the intial phase of the install was completed
so people did not have all components of the OS installed.

Hi,
No we don’t. I’m downloading it now, and we’ll try again. The driver
shows
up in the docs for 6.2.1 SE and PE pre-patches, though. How did it get
into
the documentation but not into the release? That’s not how it usually is
with software:-)

Do you have Patch B installed?

Ok, we temporarily installed our PE 6.2.1 on the laptop. Still no
driver.
Is
there any way to just get the driver from QNX?
FYI, here’s the list of drivers that show up in /lib/dll after
installing
from our 6.2.1 PE CD:
crys8900
eepro
el509
el589
el900
epic
fd
klsi
lance
ne2000
ns83815
orinoco
pcnet
pegasus
rtl
sis9
smc9000
speedo
tulip
via-rhine
wd
Thanks

Hi,
We are using QNX 6.2.1. We have a new IBM T42 laptop. It appears
to
need
the
devn-i82544.so driver. At least that’s what the Hardware Support
page
at
QNX
says. But it doesn’t seem to exist.
Is it just a myth that this driver exists for 6.2.1? Is it 6.3
only?
If
so,
why does the hardware support for 6.2.1 say that it should be
used
for
these
Intel chipsets?
Thanks
Marc
