ATI Radeon Moibility 9600 M11 or ATI M11-P does no quite wor

Hi…

I have a laptop with ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 M11 or ATI M11-P. I just
begun to troubleshoot this issue, and I wonder if there is any word of
wisdom with regard to this? A quick check on the news groups does not
look very promising. Thanks.

Regards…

Miguel.

What’s wrong with it?

Hi Garry…

The radeon driver almost works. I can see most of the screen, but there
is a lot of jitter on the middle part of the screen only, and I see
double every thing on this part of the screen. Not very useful. It
seems that I need a different refresh number, but I do not know how to
do a crttrap trap with a new refresh command. I’ll see. Thanks.

Regards…

Miguel.

What’s wrong with it?

Hi…

The driver works with an update rate of 56. Someone else posted that 52
worked for them. Will this be fixed in a future release? Thanks.

Regards…

Miguel.

There is an experimental devg-radeon.so that may solve your problem. It is
available
for download at myQNX under the Trial Software - QNX Momenitcs 6.3.x

Hi Michael…

Thanks for the hint. This driver works much better. However, if I do
the crttrap clear and crttrap trap sequence, the machine still locks
up. I had to manipulate the graphics-mode file to get it going for the
first time. It works well thereafter.

Thanks for your help.

Regards…

Miguel.

crttrap trap puts the VGA driver as the selected mode by default. I’ve seen
some systems
where the LCD can’t handle this resolution. Perhaps this is the case with
your system.

“… the machine still locks up.” By this statement you are talking
about the screen corruption, right?

Hi Michael…

This is exactly what happens with my system. Thanks for making this clear.

Miguel.

Hi Evan…

Nope… The machine is useless with no access to it whatsoever. I have
to reboot via power button.

Miguel.
