What is the “NTP” version of QNX that I keep seeing mentioned ?

The only NTP I’m aware of is the Network Time Protocol. Do you mean RTP? If so, it’s short for Realtime Platform, which was a bundling of QNX Neutrino and development tools that we released several years ago. I think it was free, but I’ve lost track of such details. 
The current packaging is the QNX Momentics development suite, which isn’t free, although you can get a free 30-day evaluation copy.
