What's the dufference between OS image and OS on target?

Hi,
I’m a new QNX user.
What’s the dufference between OS image and OS on target?
And if they’re the same, how can i load OS image on target if it has
no QNX OS?

Hi…

An image is what boots the system (i.e .boot in your system). The
target is where you run an image, programs, etc. (i.e. your own QNX
based computer is a target, self hosted target that is).

It seems that you do not have a computer that runs native QNX. Perhaps
you should do this so that you get familiarized with QNX native OS.
Eventually you will have to have one such system (i.e. the target), and
when you do, then you will be able to answer some of your own questions.
You should try this.

If you ask "how do I run QNX native in a computer’, well, simply get a
computer with a dedicated hardrive (or with some free space where you
can load a QNX partition), put the QNX CD on it, restart and let it go.
Follow the instructions on the screen.

Regards…

Miguel.
