install SP1 on Linux + specify JRE...

Hi…

QNX 6.3.0 - PE runs well in my particular Linux environment (FC-3).

I am trying to install SP1 on linux, and I wonder how do I specify the
JRE? The *.bin is trying to find the JRE, but it does not find it and
stalls. I have tried a few things, but with no sucess. Thanks.

Regards…

Miguel.

Hi…

Ok, I let the thing stall for an hour 1/2, and then it finally came back
alive. Installed, all is well.

Now I want to install the DDKs, and the same behavior. If I have to wait
for an hour 1/2 for each DDK, that would be about 9 hours. Any way to
specify this JRE finding business? Thanks.

Now, when the DDK installation came alive, I cannot type the QNX License
in the InstallShield gui interface. This is not a nice feature! How can
I install this DDK if it will not let me enter the license key?

Thanks for your help.

Regards…

Miguel.

As far as specifying the JRE, is the following helpful?

------------------- excerpt from install note --------------

Start a bash shell.

Assuming the JRE is installed in /opt/j2sdk1.4.2_x, set the PATH

environment variable as follows:

export PATH=/opt/j2sdk1.4.2_x/bin:$PATH

\

Start the QNX Momentics installer as follows:

java -jar mountpoint/qnx_linux_setup.jar

where mountpoint is where the 6.3.0 Momentics CD is mounted. In Red Hat
Enterprise version 3, it’s /mnt/cdrom; in version 4, it’s /media/cdrom
