Does anyone know of a video card that:
- is supported under QNX 4.25 / Photon 1.14
- uses a PCI bus slot
- provides alpha blending (“video overlay”)?
Alpha blending is video combined with computer graphics and output as NTSC.
“Pg.radeon” was added for Photon 1.14 last year (under the Beta program)
with:
Photon 1.14 runtime patch D
Photon Development patch B
However, this by itself is not sufficient to provide alpha blending “out of
the box”.
Although ATI Tech claims to provide alpha blending for the Radeon family of
video cards, the capability is not enabled by default, and they are
unwilling to
provide assistance to enable the feature.
I would like to hear if anyone has any further leads on this subject.

QNX4/Photon1.14 doesn’t have support for video overlay.
QNX6/Photon2 does have overlay/scaler support. The QNX6
radeon driver(devg-radeon.so) supports overlay/scaling and alpha
blending. NTSC output is not currently supported in but could be
added in the future.
