I just noticed, that $HOME is set to the Momentics Installation root after
installing SP1.
Is that necessary for the IDE or tools functioning?
It messes up my own cygwin setup.

I don’t believe that we require $HOME to be set to anything in
particular. We started setting it to avoid an issue with certain
network clients (ie. Novell) that would cause long lookup timeouts when
Cygwin would look for things like $HOME/.gdbinit. It shouldn’t be
setting $HOME if you’ve already got it set though. I’ll forward this to
the developer responsible for the installer to see if there’s a bug.
