lb700 with ma701

Hello Everyone,

I have a LittleBoard LB700 with a Netgear MA701 compact flash wireless
ethernet card in its CF slot. I am unable to have the OS recognize the
existance of the card. Anybody know the magic commands?.

Thanks
Vilas

What does pin say? It should at least verify the presence of the card.

I’m not sure but pci -v should also list it.

Are you using QNX 6.2.1? It had a second part, an upgrade, to install
from the cd before some things like networking would work correctly.

Hi Evan,

pin says it cant connect to PCCARD server. I tried running devp-pccard and
pin again without success.

pci -v doesn’t list the device either.

The CF slot is supposedly tied to the IDE interface on the board. Hence I
was wondering whether it supports only CF memory cards. The tech support at
Ampro could not really clarify that either. I just wanted to check whether
it is a problem specific to my MA701, or LB700, before I invest in more
hardware.

Thanks
Vilas

You could verify the card in a laptop just to be sure but I doubt that
will be the problem.

Here’s a quote from the devp-pccard docs:
“The host adapters chips currently supported are (PCMCIA) Intel 82365,
Cirrus CL-PD67xx, Vadem VG-46x, (CardBus) TI-11xx, TI-12xx, and TI-14xx,
Ricoh R5C47x, O2 Micro OZ68xx, and Toshiba Topic97. Other CardBus
adapters work only in legacy (PCMCIA) mode.”

You will need to look into what the VIA Twister chipset uses for it’s
embedded “host adapter”. I presume it won’t be one of the above.

Yeah, this could also be true. Maybe VIA will be talkative on the matter.
