network printing

I am trying to set up a Kyocera FS1010 as a network printer, I can get print
out but cannot get it to execute at EOL. I have set fs#20 fc20 does not
make any difference. Anybody got any ideas on how I can sort this out ?

TIA

I had the same problem with my HP lj4m+. I finally wrote a little
program
called addcr. It reads stdin char by char, writing each out and also
writing
a CR whenever a LF had been read. I think I made it an input filter in
my printcap,
but I might have put it somewhere in the lpserver chain. I’d have to go
check.

I know, it’s dumb; but it works.

Hi Marti,

we run several Kyocera Printers. The bigger models, the ones with an
operating panel, could be configured to automatically add an LF after a CR,
or add an CR after an LF. This is somewhere in the printer menu.

For the FS 1010, i think there is no operating panel with a menu on the
printer, but it comes with an setup software program (sorry, runs only by
windoze), but i can not remember if it was possible to set this parameter

Otherwise we found a nice program within the older QNX4 release (or it was
the QNX2-QNX4 migation kit), named ‘textto’. Simple put it in your spooling
commands; try ‘use textto’ to get the parameter info.

Textto is a standard utility that is part of QNX4.
