Hi-
I am using QNX 4.25E w/TCPIP 4.25C.
We have a network printer that is connected via a jet-direct card. Windows
sees it fine, and it seems to use port 9000 for making the connection, and I
can’t seem to figure out how to set up the “printcap” file to access this
printer.
If someone has done this already, please help!
Thanks.

We’ve got some JetDirect-Printer Ports running. IIRC the ‘magic’
was the queue name which was ‘raw’ (or ‘raw1’, ‘raw2’, ‘raw3’ in the
three port version).
Also the directory /usr/spool/output was mandantory to exist, even if the
printer queues are somewhere else.
Here’s the corresponding line of my ‘/etc/printcap’:
lp1|hplaser|HP LaserJet 4
:lp=:rm=hplaser4.internal:rp=raw:sd=/usr/spool/lp/hplaser:mx#0:sh:
HTH,
Karsten.
