I’m having troubles installing QNX4.25 patch E and G.
On my system I’ve saved the patches on my harddisk. I start the phinstall:
/cd1.0/bin/phinstall and under files-load selects the directory where the
patch files are. Loading a patch I get an overview of components, however it
indicates that everything is already installed. Nowhere it mentions anything
about patch E or G, on the contrary it seems like I have patch C installed!

In the installer the QNX 4.25 core OS entry should be expandable, once
expanded you should see the various patches (radio buttons), can you verify
that you are able to expand this entry? What all is listed when you expand
it?

Looks like you do not have an upgrade license in the /.licenses file (or
If I load phinstall and go to File → Source and select the patch G file I
get a list of components.
Expanding “QNX 4.25 Operating System” gives:
-System files and utilities (patch level C)
-Without patches
-With patch C (this is currently selected)
Looks like the archive you have downloaded is bad. Unfortunately the
installer will not tell you is the archive is bad, it will just fall
back to the archive on the CD.
If you had opened the patch G archive successfully you would only see a
reference to Patch G when expanding the “QNX 4.25 Operating System”
Verify the cksum and MD5 sum, with what is posted under the “Read More”
link for the download. If you used ftp to more the file around make sure
that your transfer the archive in binary mode and not ASCII mode.
