Remember the QNX 6 knowledge base? Links like
http://www.qnx.com/support/sd_bok/solution.qnx?10411
no longer work.
Is it gone forever? I’ve been looking on the QNX web site for
fifteen minutes and haven’t found the knowledge base yet. There
are references to it:
“In addition, you may want to refer to our knowledge
base where you can find solutions to problems that
have already been asked. The knowledge base contains
over 1000 entries and is located at the Support area
of our website (www.qnx.com).”
Ref: http://www.qnx.com/developers/docs/momentics621_docs/ide_en/user_guide/gethelp.html
But there’s no sign of the actual QNX 6 knowledge base. I’ve
tried the Google cache and “archive.org”, and it doesn’t
seem to have been backed up.
Did anybody save a copy of Knowledge Base #10411, covering
workarounds for problems initializing the USB subsystem?
Thanks.

It may look funny, but those knowledge base articles are
now all part of QNX 4 Knowledge Base. It doesn’t matter if
it is actually talking about QNX v6 (I guess that’s the QNX
that you are using).
eg: the article you are looking for is
http://www.qnx.com/developers/qnx4/qnx4kb/solution.html?code=10411
Good luck!
Frank
BTW, the QNX RTOS v4 Knowlege Base home page is
http://www.qnx.com/developers/qnx4/qnx4kb/index.html
Remember, even those it is titled for QNX v4, it is for v6 also.

Thank you for the quick response.
I would not have guessed that the QNX 6 knowledge base
entries were to be found under
Home->Developer Support->QNX4->QNX4 Knowledge Base
QNX RTOS v4 Knowledge Base
Perhaps someone should have a word with the QNX
webmaster.

With a PC, I always felt limited by the software available.
On Unix, I am limited only by my knowledge.

While we are on this, can you also ask where did the 10345 go?
http://www.qnx.com/developers/qnx4/qnx4kb/solution.html?code=10345
gives me something blank.
The old URL
http://www.qnx.com/support/sd_bok/solution.qnx?10345
of course, won’t work either. But at least some search engines
still cache it

Hi Frank,
I created a archive “making_bootable_cd.tgz” which can be found on
the quics ftp site:
quics.qnx.com
uid: standard
pass: standard
It has all the stuff you need to create a bootable CD, including the
needed catalogues.

The article I was looking is for QNX 4 and your archive is for QNX 6.
BTW, the catalog file is created by the mkisofs, so there is no
need to run around trying to find one
