Upgrading the ARQ1

Thought you guys might appreciate this. I did a little surgery on my QNX4
based music player over the weekend.

Hmm, who would suspect a hacker under disguise of a marketing guy

Yes, it would recognize the second drive. But to make it useful you need to
trick the audio jukebox software into using it. This can be done by mounting
the second drive in such a way that it appears as a subdirectory under the
first. You need to know logical organisation of the files/directories. And
you need to get a shell prompt, so you can modify the startup script to
mount the second drive. Generally, I’d say it’s a headache not worth
pursuing - you’re better off with one bigger drive.

I suspected you would say something like that. I mean about the
complexity… It’ll be a while before I try to expand the capacity
further. At this point I’ve got enough room for close to 600 more CD’s at
the (minimal) compression I’m using, and only about another 100 to go to
load the entirety of my collection. It will take some time before I fill
the thing. By then, perhaps, I’ll have got another on EBay.

Cheers,

A.
