Installer app?

I didn’t see the installer app that had typically been used to install 3rd
party apps. Is there going to be a way to install additional packages with
this version or is the base install all you get without purchasing a full
version?

Hi Bob,

The qnxinstall should be in “/usr/photon/bin/”

Regards,

Marcin

I’ll have to take a look when I get home, I didn’t see it on the dock and
got worried.
Is there a 3rd party disk planned for this version or just online
repositories?

Hi Bob,

I don’t think there will be a new 6.3.0 3rd-party cd, however you should be
able to use
6.2.1 cd.

Is there any compatability issues between 6.2.x and 6.3?
When ever they put something in the 3rd party CD they usually get it working
for the most part with out requiring alot of extra effort.
I was able to get on the online repository last night, but only downloaded a
couple things like Abiword and what not, because I wanted to make sure it
played nice with the new version.

So far I have not found anything that behaves wrong. Julain’s latest
gtk2 packages fail to create some module lists that have to be manually
generated, but he is going to fix these before they get posted on our
repository.
