Eval turns into NC....

Hi QSS!

As you claim in your pressrelease, when the 6.3.0 eval license expires, you
will get a system which functions the same as a “NC” system. I havn’t tried
that, but I belive that’s true…

However I found a rather big problem:

How do I reinstall my 6.3.0 (NC) copy? Or install it at another computer
after the key has expired? The installation program refuses to install if
the serial number is expired! :frowning:

You could try setting the computer date back a few months.

I suspect you have to download another copy.

The question I was answering is “How can I reinstall after the 30 day trial
period?”

I was suggesting: Set the computer data back like a month, do the
re-install, and then re-correct the computer date.

The 30 days will have expired, but you will have successfully installed
the NC version.

Mind you, I have not tried this.

Well I did it once with SE 6.2.0 which was available one time in 2002.
Had to patch some parts (forgot what it was) and it worked fine until I
got stuck with some parts in the virtual filesystem … - It worked
with the real date after the expiry date …

So you say that it is possible to use it after 30 days … I have some
doubts …

The mechanism used for license expiration and for activations is not
the same as the one previously used, so you can’t draw any conclusions
from it.

The product – once installed – will continue to operate after the
license expires, in the way we described (without IDE). There is no intent
for it
to allow additional installations in the manner outlined by the
original poster.

If you are performing a commercial evaluation, you may contact
a local sales representative (one should contact you eventually
if you indicated commercial intent). If it is necessary to complete
your evaluations, you may be able to receive a key to extend the
evaluation period from them (no re-installation necessary – just
register the new key in the product).
