some problems

Hello
First of all I have downloaded 6.3.0-qnx6-200405141702.iso and didin’t
get my licence key(no response from support@qnx.com). After buring a cd
i found out that its not bootable…
On web site I had to chose “desire host” between: Windows Host,Solaris
SPARC Host,Linux x86 Host,QNX Neutrino RTOS x86 Host and i don’t really
understand what does “desire host” mean in this case . Do i need
another os to install it or maybe my iso is broken? I don’t see any info
about iso’s md5 sums on the website…anyway md5 sum of one i have is
3cbf55b3f8b6c96630f7473b27f4891e . Maybe sb could check if its correct.

It sounds like you have made a copy of the ISO image on a CD rather than
burned
a CD based on the ISO image. Quick way to check, if you read the CD in a
drive
an you just see the ISO image file, you have not made a CD based on the
image.
If you do see many files and directories listed on the CD, then you have
burned the
CD correctly but are having trouble getting you machine to boot from a CD.

To burn a CD based on the ISO image, you need to have CD burning software
that
supports this feature. There are many, so check to see if your software
supports it
and are using the capability correctly.

If you have a correct CD with files and directory structure, ensure that the
BIOS
is set to boot from the CD ROM drive first (sequence CDROM->floppy->HDD).

QNX installs development systems (hosts) for 4 systems, Windows, Solaris
(on Sparc machines), Linux (on x86 machines) and QNX Neutrino (on x86
machines). “Host” refers to where you run your development system.
(As opposed to “target” which refers to where you run the software
you developped, this will be QNX Neutrino, but could be on x86,
MIPS, SH4, ARM, PPC.)

For all but the Neutrino choice, you will not get a bootable CD
out of it – they are not intended to be bootable, but to install
under those other Operating systems.

If you chose Neutrino hosted, it should be a bootable CD, and others
have addressed this side of things.
