Is QNX 6.3.0 Momentics Eval includes the Neutrino 6.3.0 RTOS

Hi,

I just downloaded 6.3.0-win32-200405141126.iso
from the QNX site and expecting to be able to evaluate
both the IDE and the RTOS. However, after I burnt the
image to CD, I couldn’t boot from the CD.

Looks like it doesn’t include the RTOS which contradicts the content of
http://www.qnx.com/products/eval/index.html saying that we can get the QNX
Neutrino RTOS v 6.3.0

is there any other files I need to download?

Regards,

Cherdian

You downloaded the windows cross development kit, which also include the QNX

binaries to create a custom system

If you want to try the self hosted version of Momentic you need to download
the QNX Self hosted CD

I downloaded both, and have trial keys for both. I don’t understand your
comments above. How do I install or boot QNX itself?

I don’t want to build my own custom version of the OS; I just want to
investigate what it would take to port our server application to QNX, maybe
try a test build (under QNX) of the source code. On Linux, I’d boot an
install CD and install it, then copy my source over and try a make.
Ignoring makefiles and things, how do I get to the step where I’m
copying/downloading my source files, e.g. from the default browser under
QNX?

If I was to port our server to QNX, am I going to have to tell my customers
that in addition to installing my software, they are going to first have to
download and build their own OS?

Thanks for any information you can provide on this.

Paul

The Neutrino Hosted CD is a bootable install CD.

  1. Burn the ISO
  2. Boot off the CD
  3. Enter the key
  4. Install the OS

Refer to the Neutrino Hosted Install notes for details.
