Installing on Secondary IDE Interface

Hello,

I’ve got a 256M compact flash device on the secondary master of my GX1 board
with 128M RAM that I was hoping to install QNX 6.3 (evaluation) to. The
installation went ok, but when it tried to boot the device (using .boot or
…altboot), I got:
Press esc for
…altboot…S

FYI - I installed QNX 6.2 just fine to this device, as long as I used
…altboot from installation rather than .boot because DMA is disabled on this
board. Because 6.2 installed with the same setup, I was trying to prove to
a customer that this should work too… I would hate to admit I was wrong
:frowning:

Thanks,
Wendy

Hello,

I was hoping someone from QNX would have followed up by now - any takers?

Is this a known issue, a way around it, anyone looking into it?

My customer says this isn’t the only board which has trouble booting from
cf. He’s evaluating a few boards for his project.

Thanks,
Wendy
