QNX as a live CD

I’ve seen mention several times of people talking about using QNX as a live CD. Which version supports that ? All of them ? Do you
have to enter the license/key every time in that case ? ( I’m used to using Knoppix / Linux that way … )

QNX 6.20 worked well as a live CD. 6.21 had some problems; because of
a packaging error in attempting to use the same CD for both new installs
and updates. Early 6.3 didn’t work well as a live CD. Not too sure
what the current situation is.

It’s straightforward to make up a QNX live CD if you have a full QNX,
but the distribution CDs may not work that way any more. It’s useful
to have one, too, just to find out “will QNX work on this?”.

Thanks John! You seem to be helping me no matter what newsgroup I am on!

How would I go about making a live CD from the 6.2 ISO file? I discovered that winrar will read and extract an ISO file, which I
already did for 6.2 and just simply copied it directly over to a CDR, but it didn’t boot (didn’t really expect it to). So now my
question is would you use the floppy files under \boot directory to create a bootable CD using some of the techniques found on the
net ? Or do I just need to burn the ISO with something like Nero and specify a bootable option somewhere ?

Thanks again !

QNX’s released ISO files will all create bootable CDs. If
you’re not getting bootable CDs, your not making the CD
correctly.

Thanks John. I installed a CD-burner app Roxio and managed to build
a bootable CD from the 6.2 ISO with no problem. Thanks again !
