widescreen resolution

Does Pg.radeon support widescreen resolution?

Putting
“Null.ms;Pg.radeon -g1024x640x16 -d0x1002,0x5b63 -I0 -HNqnx/crt;…”
into ‘/etc/config/trap/crt.$NODE’ gives me possibility to switch to
widescreen resolution 1024x640. However LCD monitor doesn’t handle this
resolution properly ( text is almost unreadable ) because of lack of proper
informations in ‘/etc/config/trap/crtc-settings’ file. I have noticed no
problem with using native resolution of LCD 1680x1050 and all other
“standard” resolution 1024x768, 800x600, …

QNX4 settings: 800x600,60Hz - LCD info about input signal: 800x600,60Hz
QNX4: 1024x640,60Hz - LCD: 800x600,62Hz ( incorrect! )
QNX4: 1680x1050,60Hz - LCD: 1680x1050, 61Hz ( almost correct

It seems that LCD needs correct informations from crtc-settings when using
non-native resolution. Does anybody have them? Or has anybody idea how to
set these values in crtc-settings?

Perhaps QNX SUPPORT may help?

This is a public newsgroup, QNX staff can drop in if they feel like it but
its nothing official. As a matter of fact QNX presence in here is very
thin.

If you really want an answer you must go throught the official channel.

“Official channel” sent query to QSSL. No answer yet.

It usually requires atleast a standard support contract (or sympathetic
sales rep.) to get answers

strictly speaking: I’d contacted our sales representative which sent query

Hi Martin,

I was directed to this posting a couple of days back, just haven’t had
time to get to it.

I was able to check with the graphics guys and when there’s no entry in
crtc-settings, the drivers will try to use some generic timing formulas
to generate the display timings. It appears that generic timings do not
handle this resolution correctly. We’ve never worked with this
resolution so we don’t know what the correct timing parameters are.

Since we don’t publish this as a supported resolution, there are two
things that you can do:

  1. Experiment with the crtc-settings file and see what happens
  2. Go through our professional services to have us come up with the
    correct settings.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Erick
