Can't resolve hostname

Hi friends,
i am using QNX 6.5. I have enter a DNS Server and ping www.google.com give me the IP- Adress back.
But if i enter ping i get the message “Cant resolve hostname”.
Has anybody an idea ?

Your question is confusing. I see the following.

  1. You entered a DNS server. That’s good. What DNS server? Google has a free one that anyone can use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4
  2. You are able to ping www.google.com. That should mean all is working.
  3. You say "if i enter ping i get the message “Can’t resolve hostname”. What are you trying to ping? Maybe you are entering a URL that does not exist? That would get the message “Can’t resolve hostname”.
